Projects and Activities

Our Kiwanis club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Additionally, we have speakers at our weekly meetings to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth.

Below are the projects and activities in which we are currently involved:

Enchanted Hills Camp for the Blind: We volunteer monthly and help with various projects, such as dock building, pond cleanup, brush clearing, shed and fence building and repair, carpet laying, painting and even cooking for various event at the camp. It's a favorite project for our club.

Back to School Shopping/Shop with a Cop Events: Each year, our club raises money at our p events:annual Casino Royale night and all the proceeds benefit underprivileged youth in our community. Both these events allow children to shop: Back to School shopping allows children to purchase needed clothing and school supplies for the upcoming school year. Shop with a Cop allows children to go shopping with a police officer to purchase gifts for members of their family, not for themselves! We believe in teaching this spirit of giving even at an early age!

Annual High School Senior and Community College Scholarships: Each year, our club raises money at our annual 5K Fun run, in conjunction with the Napa Valley Marathon, in order to provide $12,000 worth of scholarships to deserving seniors at our local high schools. Over the years, we have given out over $200,000 in scholarships.

Holiday Bell Ringing and Thanksgiving Dinners: Each year, our club volunteers at Trader Joes, ringing the bell and collecting money for the Salvation Army. We also help carve turkeys, cut pies and serve dinners at both the Salvation Army and the Yountville Community Thanksgiving Dinners.

Road Beautification: Every quarter, our club walks a mile stretch of Dry Creek Road, picking up trash to help keep Napa County beautiful.

Hope Center: On the third Sunday of each month, our club provides a hot mail to the homeless at the Hope Center in Napa.

5K Run: In March, we host a 5K run in conjunction with the Napa Valley Marathon. Our run is supported yearly by over 400 runners. All proceeds benefit our High School Scholarship program.

Casino Royale: Each November, our club puts on a Casino Night at the Lincoln Theater. This year, we raised over $25,000, which all went toward our Back to School Shopping and Shop with a Cop events.

MLK Coalition: Our club is a part of this amazing day of service in Napa. Joining Napa citizens, we volunteer at various locations to strengthen our community.
